Pharmacy Technician Day 2009

October 27, 2009 by Fred

October 27th 2009 is National Pharmacy Technician Day.   Celebrated in October, part of American Pharmacist’s month, this day is made to take a look at what Pharmacy Technicians do in the workplace. The vital role they play in the safe and efficient delivery of medications in the health care to millions of patients.

So, for all the Pharmacy Technicians that see this site, we say Thank You.  Tell us how you celebrated today.  Post in the comments, or the forums. Share pictures if you can.  Take pride in your career.

For more information on Pharmacy Technician Day and to learn more about the career, visit The National Pharmacy Technician Association.  You may also watch the video in the sidebar.

Just want to thank and congratulate you on operating such a wonderful web resource for pharmacy technicians. Have a WONDERFUL pharmacy technician day.

I appreciate everyone that takes the time to thank the technicians for all the work that we do. I have found that technicians do not get a pat on the back enough and that pharmacists often get rewarded for certain things (when the technician helped them get the reward).
I asked one of my supervisors what was going to be done for Pharmacy Technician day and she said it was pharmacy week the week before and that there was no need to say a thank you again. Pharmacy week is about the pharmacy as a whole (mainly pharmacists) so I think even a simple thank you would have been nice.
I sound a little bitter but I feel that if techs weren’t around for pharmacists then they would have to do a lot of things that they wouldn’t want to do.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my job. I would just appreciate more appreciation:)
