21st century technology has improved work flow for pharmacies everywhere.
Among them, My pharmacy uses the DEA’s CSOS (Controlled Substance Ordering System) to electronically submit our Dea-222 forms. We handle all our ordering and returns via the Internet, and many other types of computer technology to make our work a little easier. This is nothing new.
Yet, there is still old methods of doing things… and lots and lots of paper. It brought me to the question of how soon the Pharmacy business can become a “Paperless Industry”.
I believe it’s possible. And a step in the right direction is coming.
The FDA is seeking opinions on implementing an electronic system for distributing prescribing information for doctors, pharmacists, and consumers.
