ABC’s 20/20 covers Pharmacy Errors

A recent episode of ABC’s 20/20 aired an expose’ on “Fast Pharmacies” and the devastating errors that they produce.
Segments of the story focused on unexperienced, young “Pharmacy Technicians” that make potentially deadly mistakes.
“The country’s major drug store chains are increasingly relying on pharmacy technicians, often as young as 16 with little training, to fill prescriptions involving even the most powerful drugs.
Sometimes, there are tragic results.”
This is a wake-up call for all Pharmacy Technicians to push for higher standards and certification requirements for our job.
