Sleeping Pills linked to “Sleep Driving”

March 16, 2007

Any class of drugs known as “sedative-hypnotics” can cause these bizarre side-effects, especially when combined with other sedating medications or alcohol.

The FDA is reccommending that manufacturers conduct clinical trials to identify which drugs have the highest risks, and that the medications have warninglables, and also be dispensed with a “Medication Guide” that warns customers of the “Sleep Walking” side-effect.

Some of the drugs to be studied are Ambien, Sonata, Lunesta, Halcion, Restoril, Rozerem, Dalmane, Prosom, Butisol sodium, Carbrital, Doral, Placidyl, and Seconal.
