Generics

March 13, 2007

Today, Teva Pharmaceuticals announced that it would continue to sell its generic version of OxyContin tablets at least through the end of 2007. The long-running patent litigation involving Teva’s generic version of Purdue’s pain relief drug, OxyContin was dismissed in October last year by the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

The suit was dismissed pursuant to a settlement between Teva and Purdue and certain of its affiliates. A similar patent infringement suit over the generic version of OxyContin was settled between Endo Pharmaceuticals and Purdue in August of last year.
